Announcements for the Week of April 23rd
Home and School Positions for Next Year: No one has volunteered to fill the Chair and Co-Chair positions for next year. Don’t assume that someone else will do it. Our students need YOU! Contact Jean Robertson if interested.
Author/Illustrator Visit, SAVE THE DATE! Home and School is sponsoring local author, Alan St. Jean from April 17- 19, 2018! Mr. St. Jean will be our “Author-in-Residence” for 3 days. He will share his own work with the students and will take time with each class to help them create their own stories and illustrations in what he calls a “Writing Olympics”. All parents/grandparents are invited to attend the presentation of all of the students’ work with Mr. St. Jean on Thursday, April 19th at 1:15pm. Mr. St. Jean has written a series of young children’s picture books called The Daydreams Collection as well as a trilogy of books for older students called The Chronicles of Oren. Order forms for author-signed books will be available after spring break. Students will get a chance to preview the books in their library classes.
• All Families: Please send in photos of any and every event you have taken at the school or school functions throughout the year. We like our yearbook to showcase all the wonderful activities and learning opportunities provided by St. Bernadette. All photos are welcome - send all you have. If you have hard copies, please send them in a labeled envelope for kid mail to c/o Christopher White, 2nd grade (they will be returned to you). Or, you can e-mail them to email@example.com to the yearbook coordinator, Diana Rolland.
• 5th Grade Families: Deadline to turn in school progression photos, baby photos and growing up photos for the yearbook and slide show is Friday, April 20. (All photos will be returned).
• Yearbook ads/messages: The ad space is 2” by 2”, and each ad costs $10. This space really personalizes the yearbook. It can be a note to a favorite teacher, a note from grandparents for a job well-done, or whatever you want to say. What you say can be sized to fit into the space, so don't think you have to write small enough for it to fit. Later, I will send out samples so you can get an idea of what the ads will look like. In the meantime, start thinking about what you want to say to your loved one.
It’s Hair donation time!
Tomorrow, Friday, April 20th at 2pm, Elizabeth Sisco will be our beautician in-house taking hair donations. Thank you to all the girls and women donating their hair for this wonderful cause.
Mark your calendars for the following events:
Father Daughter Dance, Friday, May 4th from 7-9pm at St. Bernadette School
