About the Role

St. Bernadette Catholic School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Classroom Aide to provide one-on-one support for a student with individual learning and classroom needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with the student, teacher, and school staff to ensure the student is supported academically, socially, and emotionally within the classroom environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized assistance to the student throughout the school day
• Supporting academic instruction as directed by the classroom teacher
• Assisting with behavior management and social interactions
• Helping the student stay organized and on task
• Offering encouragement and guidance to foster independence and confidence
• Communicating effectively with the teacher and administration about student progress and needs
• Supporting the Catholic mission and values of St. Bernadette School

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college coursework in education or related field preferred
• Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly valued
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Completion of Protecting God’s Children training or willingness to complete
• Successful FBI/BCI background checks required

• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Utilize data and assessments to guide instruction and support student growth
• Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school-wide initiatives and a strong school culture
• Participate fully in the life and mission of the school community

Qualifications & Requirements

• Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach
• Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
• Have attended or be willing to attend VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church
• Practicing Catholic preferred
